- Tees are made
from the latest technology synthetic mats to simulate hitting from
a fairway.
- The average hole
length is 55.5 meters with the longest hole being 83 and the shortest
38 meters.
- The greens are
a 328 Couch (that is most commonly used in Queensland resort courses).
The reason that Par3 uses this type of grass is due to very little
shelter from sunlight. All 18 holes are lit in a way that illuminates
the course and reduces glare - the light poles are placed in strategic
positions as not to interfere with play and reduce shadows on the
green.
- The course is
a traditional links style which is often seen in Britain and surrounding
areas due to their climate. The course is very challenging to all
types of golfers. In Ireland there are over 500 similar courses all
measuring under 1000m total.
- A great feature
of the design of Par3 is the excellent course drainage. Located on
top of a hill and an extensive drainage network mean the course is
open to play all year round, no matter what the weather conditions.
